Million Dollar Year

Lessons · MODEL · PERIOD 1 · LESSON 1.1 · 25 MIN · SAVE BY DAY 4

Targets

By the end of this lesson you will have the fixed point every later decision is judged against: two annual targets, the reason behind them, the most hours you will work in a week, and three to five rules you will not break. With it on the page, no record month and no tempting hire can pull the business off the year you actually want.

  • Where the business stands today, in cash collected and profit kept
  • Your first target, in annual revenue, and the profit target that follows it
  • The business reason for both, in one or two sentences
  • Your weekly hours ceiling
  • The non-negotiables that every later decision is checked against

Why it matters. A record revenue month is easy to chase and easy to regret. If you chase it, you add clients, people and hours faster than profit, so the month looks bigger while each of your hours is worth less. Writing down the score first, profit kept inside a set number of hours, gives you a fixed point. Every offer, hire and channel in the Ms that follow is judged against it.

What you need. Nothing yet. Have last month's cash collected and business costs to hand, including what the business paid you.

Do this.

  1. Enter last month's cash collected and every business cost. Put your salary on its own line. If you took no fixed salary, enter $0. Coach shows the profit the business kept. Then set the fixed monthly salary the business will pay you from now on.
  2. Enter the hours you worked in a normal week last month. Count calls, delivery, messages and admin.
  3. Look at the revenue target. Coach starts it at $1,000,000 a year. Keep it or change it.
  4. Look at the profit target. Coach starts it at $1,000,000 a year, as the milestone after revenue. Keep it or change it.
  5. Write the reason for your targets in one or two sentences. Describe the business you want to run, not a personal budget.
  6. Set your weekly hours ceiling as one number.
  7. Write three to five non-negotiables. Start with one buyer, one offer, one funnel and one main channel, then add any rule about how you work.
  8. Save. Coach checks your later lessons against what you saved here.

Both targets are your choice. Lesson 1.4 shows what they require. Under every figure in this program you will read: This is what the target requires at the numbers you entered. It is not a forecast, and we make no claim or promise that you will reach any revenue, profit or income figure.

Done when. By day 4 of the Model period, the member has saved an annual revenue target and an annual profit target with a written reason, a weekly hours ceiling, and three to five non-negotiables.

Max's example

The same deliverable on his own business

Max's numbers for last month, at the $5,000 shown price and with the two cost lines as his estimate, and Max's plan for the targets. His entries, day 3:

Field Entry
Cash collected last month $40,000: 8 done-for-you clients at $5,000, the price at the time of writing
Business costs Software and AI $525 and payment fees $2,400, both his estimate. No contractors. No fixed salary yet, so the salary line is $0
Profit kept $37,075 before salary, $37,075 after
Owner salary from now on $10,000 a month, fixed. With it, last month would show $27,075 after salary
Weekly hours today 60
Revenue target $1,000,000 a year, kept as prefilled
Profit target $1,000,000 a year after all costs including salary, kept as the next milestone
Reason "A Million Dollar Year that runs on one program, one funnel and one channel, pays me a salary first, and never needs more than 30 of my hours a week."
Hours ceiling 30
Buyer Coaches and agency owners making $20k to $100k a month

Non-negotiables:

  1. One buyer: coaches and agency owners making $20k to $100k a month, accepted from $20k.
  2. One core program, Million Dollar Year, sold through one funnel: the application, then a call. Done-for-you sold beside it as Million Dollar Acquisition, through the same funnel, never a third offer.
  3. One main acquisition channel at a time: Meta.
  4. Show real numbers with their disclaimer. Never promise anyone a figure.
  5. Once trained and checked, Coach speaks and acts for the business on its own.

These are Max's choices. Nothing here shows a result.
